LG Nexus 4 Starts to Receive Android 4.2.2, Removes Unofficial LTE Support

LG Nexus 4

The LG Nexus 4 is now starting to receive an update to Android 4.2.2, after first being spotted on the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7. The latest version addresses the bug issues with Bluetooth audio streaming and provides small UI tweaks, but at the same time it also kills off LTE.

That’s right, if you were one of the lucky few that lived in an area that supported the limited LTE frequencies given off by the Nexus 4, you will be disappointed (though probably not surprised) to know that the latest update patches that capability up.

If you really want to keep your Nexus 4 LTE going, you will likely have to wait around for third party ROMs that re-add LTE to later versions of Android like 4.2.2. Still, for most Nexus 4 users, this probably isn’t a real concern. For those that own the Nexus 4, does the LTE “fix” affect you or not?

HTC One, aka M7, rendering leaked

HTC One

HTC M7 One news is about as easy to find on the web as angry teenagers are in the comments section of YouTube videos. So what do we have for you this time around? Well according to @evleaks, this is a rendering of the HTC One which will be used as a press release image.

@Evleaks has been a great resource of HTC One (M7) news over the past few weeks, and it appears whoever the tipster is has close ties to the flagship HTC project.

Back to the rendering, we can see that the design looks very similar to the current iPhone and the recently launched Blackberry Z10. The phone also appears to have a rather large from camera sensor and looks to be running Sense 5 which is rumored to appear on the phone.

With less than a week from us actually seeing the real HTC One, do you guy’s think that this rendering is the real deal? Are you excited for the HTC One?

HTC G2 could be firm's next entry-level smartphone

HTC G2 could be firm's next entry-level smartphone

There's more Android goodness to come from HTC

Hot on the heels of the HTC M7/HTC One bandwagon comes word of the HTC G2 which could be the Taiwanese firm's next budget blower.

The folks over at Phone Arena have been sent a screenshot of what is apparently the Sense 5.0 overlay for Android running on the HTC G2's 320x480 display.

In terms of design the Sense 5.0 styling appears to be very similar to the screenshots we've seen previously on what it being claimed is the HTC One, which adds a bit more weight to this particular leak.

Like a G2

HTC G2 - LEAK

Rumours suggest that the HTC G2 will sport a 1GHz single-core processor, 3.5-inch display and we'd hope a suitably entry level price tag as well.

HTC has a special event lined up on February 19 where it will unveil its next flagship smartphone, thought to be called the HTC One, and there's a chance we could see the G2 pop up there too.

Otherwise HTC's presence at MWC 2013 in Barcelona at the end of the month would provide another suitable platform for the firm to announce the low-end handset.

We don't expect HTC to stick with the G2 name as it's already been used for the G2 Touch - better known as the HTC Hero.
