Nokia Lumia 620 announced

More rounded, more colourful, less money

The Nokia Lumia 620 has been unveiled, coming in below the current crop of Windows Phone 8 handsets from the Finnish firm.

Sporting a 3.8-inch, 800x480 display, 5MP camera the same tech you find in the more powerful Lumia 820 and Lumia 920, VGA front snapper, NFC technology, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, Nokia reckons the Lumia 620 will give you "the most fun for your money".

Running the show is a 1GHz dual-core processor and 512MB of RAM – which should easily be able to cope with Windows Phone 8 - and a microSD card will allow you to expand on the 8GB of internal storage.

Arriving early next year

You'll be able to pick the Lumia 620 up in one of seven colours, with lime green and orange being added to the previously seen cyan, magenta, yellow, black and white options on Nokia's other handsets.

Covers can be swapped around, so if you fancy sporting a different colour every day of the week then you can, and at 115.4 x 61.1 x 11.02mm it should fit into your pocket without too much trouble - although it may feel a little chunky.

The Nokia Lumia 620 release date is pegged for next year, with the handset rolling out in Asia, the Middle East and Africa come January, with other markets including Europe following soon after.

In terms of the Nokia Lumia 620 price, the handset will set you back a reasonable $249 (€190/around £155).
