Major delays to the Samsung Galaxy S4 already avoided?

The countdown is on, not long to go...

The Samsung Galaxy S4 won't suffer the same setbacks faced by the Galaxy S3 last year. The firm has ensured everything will run smoothly as the orders start to roll in, according to one analyst.

Lee Seung-Woo told Reuters that Samsung is ready to deal with the huge demand it is expecting for its next flagship handset after it apparently lost out on two million Galaxy S3 sales due to manufacturing mishaps.

Seung-Woo said: "Based on checks we had with suppliers, Samsung has already done significant work to ensure smooth supply and not to repeat what they had to deal with last time."

Issues may still arise

It may not be completely plain sailing for Samsung though, with another analyst - Greg Noh - "predicting" (aka stating the obvious) the high demand could well put strain on component supplies, causing some delays.

"There could be, again, a supply bottleneck due to tight supply of components ... but I think any such disruption will be very brief, as Samsung is making a bigger bet on the S4 than on its predecessor with a backup plan to avoid such disruption," explained Noh.

Now we always take analyst comments with a heavy dosage of salt, but we'd be surprised if Samsung hadn't taken any lessons from the debacle last year to ensure the Galaxy S4 gets to customers in good time.

We'll be reporting live from the New York event this evening to bring you all the last news as it breaks, as well as our hands-on Samsung Galaxy S4 review.
